For Parents

Your child has worked hard to get to college, and you have been there every step of the way to help them get the most from their college experience. You know that supporting your child through this phase of higher education is about much more than directly teaching him or her about the world. You understand the importance of providing your child with every opportunity to expand in new environments during the formative college years. And, up to now, you have successfully provided those opportunities to your child. Unfortunately, circumstances have barred your ability to send your child to the traditional growth environments of a college campus. The U Experience is here to fill that gap.

Parents send their students to universities for academic enrichment, personal and professional advancement, and a safe and controlled environment that encourages and fosters personal growth and meaningful networking. A smaller group of parents send their students to study abroad programs to expand their horizons and give them unique perspectives that they can share with peers for the rest of their life. The U Experience presents an opportunity for parents to send their otherwise home-rooted students to a study-abroad-like environment within the United States.

At The U Experience, your student will be interacting with other intelligent, curious, driven young students from around the country who are all enrolled in their respective on-line college or university curriculum. Our program gives students the opportunity to live their day-to-day lives in a campus environment while pursuing their virtual educations.

Traditional college room and board covers the traditional elements of college. At The U Experience, the possibilities are endless, from sporting and community building events to speaking engagements featuring top thought-leaders in the country speaking on relevant and informative topics. Our goal is to ensure that our students have every opportunity to forge and solidify lifelong connections.

While there are certainly logistical challenges in keeping students safe during this COVID pandemic, The U Experience has partnered with public health experts and local community members on a comprehensive set of guidelines to ensure that appropriate safety protocols and protections are in place. We encourage you to read through our student handbook for more granular detail. Students will be assigned individual rooms, which will be cleaned weekly and exposure to elements outside of our bubble will be minimized. Your student will enjoy the enriching experience of college life within the protective layers of our safety protocols.

Each of our accepted students will be carefully vetted to ensure that their interactions produce extremely valuable lifelong networks. Your student may never have another opportunity like this to study and grow alongside students from other top universities. They certainly will not have that opportunity by taking their online classes at home. This is a unique opportunity for your student to grow, personally and academically, at a time when the rest of the country has paused. We hope you will join other parents in giving your student the experience of a lifetime at The U Experience.

Is this cost per semester? Will students only be allowed “off campus” on private trips? What if they need to get toiletries? How will you protect against the hotel staff, who is not part of the bubble, does not infect the students?
What will menus be like? Will food be buffet? Where can we get more information?

Our hotel staff will not be interacting with the students so that, as you point out, we can maintain the integrity of our bubble. All toiletries and other amenities will be provided by the hotel, as they would otherwise be for normal travelers.
